Welcome to the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Madurai Centre. We offer many courses in yoga and meditation for the beginner, intermediate as well as for the advanced practitioner. We follow the ancient discipline of yoga practise as taught by founder Sri Swami Vishnudevananda our founder, one of the foremost disciples of Sri Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh.

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Madurai Centre was opened in 2004 as part of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres (ISYVC), a non-profit organisation.

Swami Vishnudevananda synthesized the ancient wisdom of yoga into five basic principles that could easily be incorporated into one's daily lifestyle to provide the foundation for healthy living.

The teachings at the Centre are based around these Five Points of Yoga:

  • Proper Exercise - asana
  • Proper Breathing - pranayama
  • Proper Relaxation - savasana
  • Proper Diet - vegetarian
  • Positive Thinking and Meditation - Vedanta and Dhyana
