Welcome to Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dwarka Centre

The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre was founded by Sri Swami Vishnudevananda in 1957. He was initiated and trained by his Master, Swami Sivananda, founder, Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, Himalayas to spread the ideals of Yoga and Vedanta. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dwarka Center was time-honored in 2005 in the celebrated residential location of New Delhi, as a branch of Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Nataraja Society a non-profit organization run by voluntary staff and dedicated to the aim of disseminating the knowledge of Yoga

We offer various courses/ occasional workshops and also provide facilities to learn and practice Yoga Asanas and Meditation in a regular manner

By closely observing the lifestyles and needs of people, Swami Vishnudevananda synthesised the ancient wisdom of Yoga into five basic principles that could easily be incorporated into one's own lifestyle to provide the foundation for healthy living. It is around these five principles that the activities at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre are based

The Five Points of Yoga include:

  1. Proper Exercise (Asanas)
  2. Proper Breathing (Pranayama)
  3. Proper Relaxation - Savasana
  4. Proper Diet - Vegetarian
  5. Positive Thinking and Meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana)
